Four Elements: Blue Topaz

What's your birthstone? It's kind of like your birthday but in gorgeous gemstone form. It's something to celebrate. The ancient Greeks believed everything was made of four elements: earth, water, air, and fire. We believe every birthstone month deserves (at least) four jewelry wishes. Happy birthstone!

Truth and desires with November's birthstone

On the opposite spectrum of November’s citrine birthstone sits blue topaz. Its name originates from the Sanskrit word “tapas,” or fire. While topaz is traditionally found in yellow or amber tones, it is colorless and turns into different colors according to the impurities found in it. A popular color tone is blue—a bright, light blue. Rare in nature, the blue hue is usually treated to achieve the color. Each color of topaz is said to symbolize different things, and blue garners truth and desires. A surprisingly versatile stone ideal for wearing year-round—lounging by a pool or on the ski slopes—we love blue topaz’s vibrant look, especially when paired with white or silver.
