Green With Envy
The Shade of the Season(s)
The color green is associated with many things; growth, balance, and renewal to name a few. It’s literally the color that represents life! So, it’s no wonder that jewelry designers would flock to that side of the color wheel when choosing what stones to create both new and established collections, especially when it comes to pieces that embody the brand's aesthetic.
Emeralds are definitely the most popular of choice and there seems to be an endless choice of tones, from deep green worthy of royal jewels to fresh glowing stones with an ethereal flair.
That said, emeralds aren’t the only verdant stone on offer, in fact designers have been captivated with a range of stones that include nephrite jade to chrysoprase and malachite to tourmaline.
When you're wearing one of these enchanting numbers, you'll contradict the phrase "the grass is always greener".
Rocket Earrings
Brazilian-born and UK-based designer, Fernando Jorge launched his award-winning eponymous jewelry brand in 2010. Fast forward to today and he is still creating sensually covetable pieces with locally sourced (Brazil) hand-carved gemstones. These green tourmalines, nephrite jade, and diamond earrings inhabit all that Jorge has to offer and work with everything from a classic white t-shirt to a glorious gown.
Fernando Jorge 18k yellow gold, diamond, nephrite jade, and green tourmaline “Rocket” earrings, $37,700 at Fernando Jorge.
Greek Pattern
Baylee Ann Zwart founded Azlee in 2015, a Los Angeles-based brand inspired by ancient civilizations. Each piece embodies an old-world aesthetic mixed with a nod to Art Deco architecture as well as a little romance. This ring is a shining example of those properties with a modernized oval cabochon set on an ancient Greek pattern band.
Azlee 18k yellow gold and 2.88ct Zambian Emerald “Greek Pattern” ring, $8,600 at Azlee.
Inlay Bangle
California-based Lauren Harwell Godfrey has been busy with her brand Harwell Godfrey as of late. Between collaborating on a limited edition “Press for Champagne” ring with artist Ashley Longshore and continuously adding to her collections, she opened her first store in Larkspur, CA. Which will house all her lovely wears, including her signature pieces with precious gemstone inlay details.

Pom Pom Dot
Pomellato is an iconic Milan-based brand that was established in 1967, and recently just launched “Pom Pom Dot”, their first new collection since “Iconica” in 2017. It’s in reference to a button motif that the house debuted in the 1970s and consists of mother-of-pearl and malachite mini button designs (the pendants and bracelets are double-sided with diamonds on the reverse). Each makes for a great addition to their classics, including these perfectly pretty malachite studs.
Pomellato 18k rose gold, malachite, and diamond “Pom Pom Dot” earrings, $3,600 at Pomellato.
Catena Green Emerald
Nadine Aysoy comes from a Belgium family of diamantaires but started her career as an investment banker before pivoting and studying gemology to eventually launch her brand in 2017. While still fine, her designs approach the more playful and colorful side of jewels with an abundance of colorful gems on offer. So, it would only make sense that she would create a double verdant bracelet with one of the most sought-after stones (emerald) and pair it with cheerful enamel.
Nadine Aysoy 18k yellow gold, Catena green emerald and enamel bracelet, $8,875 at Nadine Aysoy.
