Out With the Old, In With the reJEWEL

Give your unworn jewelry a (sustainable) makeover

That gaudy sapphire ring, straight out of the ‘80s, that you inherited from your late grandmother. A single diamond earring, long separated from its companion (whoops). The heart necklace your highschool boyfriend gave you, clearly picked by his mom, but still, thoughtfully set with your birthstone. You’d never sell or give away these precious treasures, but you also never wear them. So why not give them the makeover they deserve?

reJEWEL is the process of transforming your unworn fine jewelry into something chic and new. It’s also environmentally responsible. By recycling existing precious metals and gemstones, rather than purchasing newly-mined materials, you’re contributing to a sustainable practice.

The reJEWEL process is customized to you and your jewelry, and happens in three easy steps: consultation, design, and production.

After we match you with a jeweler, they will evaluate your pieces during a consultation. Then it’s onto the fun: designing your new piece using the stones (and sometimes, even the silver or gold) from your old jewelry. You’ll chat with your jeweler about your personal style and what you’re envisioning. Once you decide on a design concept, they’ll work up a sketch or CAD (fancy for “computer aided design”) to give you an idea of what the finished product will look like, then you’ll work together to tweak the design to perfection.

Once the design is perfect, it’s time for the jeweler to work their magic. They’ll get to work disassembling the old piece(s) and begin production. After casting, cleaning, and perfecting the precious metal of your new piece, the final step is setting your stones, polishing the metal, and adding any engravings or special finishes.

And just like that, Grandma’s sapphire ring has been transformed into a gorgeous necklace you’ll wear every day. Sure, a shiny new piece of jewelry is worth its weight in gold, but one with sentimental value? Priceless. reJEWEL offers the best of both worlds.
