Diamonds are a convicted killer’s best friend in House of Gucci

From the time she donned a meat dress in the early days of her pop career, Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta (aka Lady Gaga) has shocked and amazed us. Her latest creative endeavor, portraying an Italian murderess in the epic biographical crime-drama House of Gucci, is no exception.

In the Ridley Scott-directed film, the singer/songwriter/entrepreneur/actor plays Patrizia Reggiani, the ex-wife of fashion mogul Maurizio Gucci who was prosecuted and convicted of arranging his death in 1995. Throughout the film, Gaga is clad in vintage power suits, lace dresses, leather skirts, silk blouses, even Studio 54-worthy disco attire. Much of the jewelry and apparel come straight from the Gucci archives, and there are few scenes where Gaga’s chilling character isn’t dripping in gold, pearls, and diamonds.

Maybe we’ll never get to know what it feels like to marry into one of the world’s most iconic design empires, or to be one of the most iconic superstars like Gaga. But we can get close to both legends with some gorgeous statements inspired by the film, the fashion, and the fashionista.
