4 Favorites From Our Jewelers

What's your favorite jewelry?

Your wedding ring. Your watch. Gold hoops. If you're like me, you have a jewelry box (or two) full of jewelry, but really, there's only a handful of pieces I wear regularly. Classic and sentimental, those are my favorites. When I put them on, they make me feel loved. When I pause to admire the Jennie Kwon Emerald Lexie Ring my husband got me for my fortieth, my chest warms with gratitude for the heartfelt message it tells me.

If anyone knows what jewelry seekers want, it's the owner of a local jewelry store. We were wondering what our jewelers’ favorites are, so we asked them.

A fourth-generation jeweler, Lester Lampert is all about heritage. The family name "Lampert" or "Lempert" means 'leopard' in Hebrew, and you'll see the wildcat spotted throughout the store's history and designs. Their Eye of the Leopard™ Diamond Bracelet ($4,450) comes in various golds and colored gemstones, with diamonds for sparkle.

Brooke Lampert says, "Our clients have come to us with a greater demand for pieces that carry a special significance and meaning. The evil eye serves as a sign of protection against evils—something everyone can value."

It's not surprising that Jody at Santa Fe's Malouf on the Plaza chose an item with silver and turquoise, but their selection is unparalleled. This 5 Stone Blue Carico Lake Turquoise Cuff ($2,300) isn't your typical turquoise; it's more of a blue-green color with a web-like matrix because it comes from a mine in Lander County, Nevada. The mine is primarily a gold mine, but occasionally they allow mining for turquoise, making Carico Lake Turquoise rare and limited.

You knew diamonds were going to make a cameo. Underwoods Fine Jewelers are an Accredited Gem Lab honored by the American Gem Society, which means they can grade their diamonds they source from around the world.

The store's president, Craig Underwood, suggests a diamond bangle or tennis bracelet, a diamond halo or solitaire necklace, diamond studs or hoops, a right-hand ring—or all of the above, please. These White Gold With Diamonds "Ball" Stud Earrings ($3,190) aren't your typical studs with a polished disco ball design and twelve diamonds total.

Tiny Jewel Box's president, Matthew Rosenheim, says, "Alex Sepkus is an iconic and incredibly talented designer that is the master of mixing ancient and modern design. He creates intriguing pieces that truly look like nothing else out there." Case in point: this Gold and Blue Sapphire and Diamond Emma Ring ($12,530) looks like something plucked from Cleopatra's jewelry box.
