Meet Neugebauer’s

Neugebauer’s has decades of history behind it. It was founded by Jerry Neugebauer in 1945 in Sturgis, South Dakota. Several years later, he opened a second store in Rushmore Mall. Fast forward to 1982, when Richard Baumann and his father purchased the business from Jerry, relocating it to Downtown Rapid City in 1996.

Richard and his wife, Barbara, have made Neugebauer’s a bona fide family business with their children as part of the team.

The shop sits inside a historic bank building on the main corners of downtown Rapid City. In addition to valuing family and cherished moments, they offer expertly crafted jewelry with precious stones and exquisite metals.

Jewelers On-site

Neugebauer’s offers same-day express service, watch repairs, gem and jewelry setting, appraisals, and full service bridal. There are three bench jewelers on-site. You’ll also find watches and a pre-owned Rolex marketplace where the timepieces are meticulously serviced and come with a Two Year Warranty.

The Team

Neugebauer’s team of custom designers are equipped with the skills and tools to create any piece of jewelry you can think up. Using state-of-the-art technology and their wealth of knowledge, they design their jewelry with virtual 3D technology, creating photo-realistic images of each custom piece. They’ll walk you through every step of the process, from concept to reality.

Giving Back

With strong community ties and history in South Dakota, the Baumann family is dedicated to supporting a number of organizations, like the Children's Home Society. When its headquarters was being built at the base of the hills, they put together fundraisers to support them. They also support their local Heart Association and Cancer Society.
