Bliss’ Beginning

Bliss Lau started her business at twenty-one, initially as a handbag designer. She ventured into making body chains—she was the designer behind Beyoncé’s body chain in the music video for “Drunk in Love”—and never looked back. After making her own engagement ring, she added fine jewelry to her repertoire.

A Visionary Approach

Working mostly with recycled gold, Bliss cares deeply about sustainability and ethical practices. To ensure responsible sourcing, particularly with gemstones and conflict-free diamonds, she upholds a code of conduct with everyone they work with. Bliss requires transparency and knowing exactly where materials come from, so she has close relationships with her miners and cutting factories.

Giving Back

In an effort to share her knowledge of entrepreneurship, Bliss has teamed up with celebrated strategist, Jasmine Takanikos, to create an intensive workshop, called “Centering Your Brand,” at her alma mater, Parsons School of Design. It’s a hardcore three-day workshop that pushes individuals and companies to dive into self-exploration. Owning a business isn’t easy, and they’ve come together to create a program that assists each participant in creating strategies for their future.
